Anyone can send it to Big thanks!! Try spending money on it instead.
That encourages authors to write books. Stealing them does not.
Sorry.Or get them from the library. I figure the library buys the book, I pay the library via taxes.
I don't get to keep it so there's that. I had 3 weeks to read all of the newest Lewisohn. It was a page turner, for sure. I finished it 4 days.Someday I'll count the number of Beatles books I have. It's not all that many, less than 10 I'd guess. The Hunter Davies biography, the Allan Williams whine (very enjoyable!), Cynthia's first one, The True Story of the Beatles by Billy Shepard.well maybe it's more than 10 as I look around.
I'd count the Bill Harry Mersey Beat book from the late 70s. Then there's the Illustrated Lyrics, another called 'The Beatles, An Illustrated Record', Yesterday (photos), A Hard Day's Write.huff puff. All You Need is Ears.and that's just what I've got upstairs. That's 10 right there. Oh, another one I see.The Days of Their Lives. Not to mention all of those 35 cent or 50 cent magazines from the early days of 1964.Stephen X. Carter17.12.15 2:17.

OK, I haven't posted anything in a while, so I decided to think of something creative to post. So my idea was to create a post highlighting songs the Beatles gave away. Throughout the Beatles years, especially the early years (1962-1963), the Beatles wrote many songs that they didn't think were good enough in their repertoire, so they gave them to other artists. In addition, Paul wrote a few songs for other artists. I decided to make this a 3 part post.
Part 1 is songs the Beatles recorded as demos or in informal settings, and then gave away. Part 2 is songs that the Beatles either performed live or in the studio, then gave them away to other artists. Part 3 is songs that the Beatles didn't record themselves, but gave away to other artists. A few notes: It takes a lot of space and bandwidth to host all the files, so I'll be using EZShare which lets you host files for free.
All the files from each part will be in a single ZIP file. Files are all MP3 (Lame encoded using the 'Medium' preset), and are marked either 'Beatles' or 'Cover' to differentiate whether it's a Beatles recording or a recording by another band. Many of the songs here have been released officially, and all official songs will be snipped short. None of Beatles recordings here have appeared on a regular Beatles album, though some have appeared on the Anthology, and that will be noted on the songs. Most of my information about the songs was taken from.
Hope you enjoy! Yeah, I have no clue why Lennon gave that one away. The Beatles actually gave a lot of stuff to Billy J Kramer. He got plenty of exclusive Beatles songs that were hits (From a Window, I'll Keep You Satisfied, I'm In Love, Bad To Me, and I'll Be On My Way), not to mention he covered plenty of Beatles songs as well.
Heck, he even recorded 'I Call Your Name' one year before the Beatles did it. Once the Beatles started hoarding their music, Billy J's career didn't go to far But yeah, Bad To Me is one of Lennon's better early songs IMO. I don't like One and One Is Two at all I'm not surprised Paul gave it up. And that it didn't chart at all. Here's the promised part 2. I don't feel like doing a big proper list this time, so here's a shorter version These are songs that the Beatles either played live or in the studio, but never ended up recording for an album. Once again, the zip file includes clips of the Beatles version along with clips of the bans who covered the Beatles.
The song list is as follows: Catswalk Recorded by the Beatles in 1960, given away to The Chris Barber Band who recorded this instrumental tune as 'Cat Call' in 1967. Come and Get It Paul wrote this in 1969 specifically to give away to Badfinger. Paul's version appeared as a pretty awful echoed mix on Anthology 3, I've included the original much better soubnding mix. Hello Little Girl The Beatles played Hello Little Girl often between 1960-1962. The Beatles version included here is from the Decca audition that appeared on the Anthology. It was covered a few years later by the Fourmost as well as Gerry and the Pacemakers. I'll Be On My Way This Lennon/McCartney tune appeared on the BBC set, but the Beatles opted to give it away to Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas in 1963.
Like Dreamers Do This is another song from the Decca audition. This excellent cover was done by the Applejacks Love of the Loved Yet another song from the Decca audition, yet this one never made it on Anthology. It was covered by Cilla Black in 1963. That Means A Lot The Beatles recorded this in 1965 in two versions, the first of which appeared on the Anthology. On the Anthology, it was a pretty crappy mix as well, and I've included the original mix. The second Beatles version is also included. Ultimately, it was given away to PJ Proby, who recorded it with George Martin doing the orchestration.
I really like the Applejacks cover of 'Like Dreamers Do', that was excellent. I think the Beatles second version of That Means A Lot was quite good. Some of the covers are quite interesting because they sound quiet different from the Beatles style.
